چکیده

The role of bathocuproine BCP buffer layer inserted between active layer and Al contact in photovoltaic cells based on phthalocyanine Pc and C60 was investigated. Photoluminescence PL experiments show exciton quenching at the C60–Al interface to be strongly reduced by inserting BCP. Current-voltage characteristics of photovoltaic cells with planar geometry front electrode/ Pc/C60/BCP/Al show that BCP dramatically improves electron transport out of the C60 film into the Al electrode. The tenfold increase in power conversion efficiency with BCP can mostly be attributed to the latter effect. BCP does not improve in photovoltaic cells with blend film geometry front electrode/Pc:C60/Al. © 2006 American Institute of Physics. DOI: 10.1063/1.2362624

Utilising solution processed zirconium acetylacetonate as an electron extracting layer in both regular and inverted small molecule organic photovoltaic cells

Interfacial layers are commonly employed in organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells in order to improve device performance. These layers must be transparent, stable, be compatible with the photo-active materials and provide efficient charge extraction with a good energetic match to the relevant organic material. In this report we demonstrate the compatibility of zirconium acetylacetonate (ZrAcac) elec...

Thermal Annealing Effect on Poly(3-hexylthiophene): Fullerene:Copper-Phthalocyanine Ternary Photoactive Layer

We have fabricated poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT)/copper phthalocyanine (CuPc)/fullerene (C60) ternary blend films. This photoactive layer is sandwiched between an indium tin oxide (ITO)/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT/PSS) photoanode and a bathocuproine (BCP)/aluminium photocathode. The thin films have been characterized by atomic force microscope (AFM) and ultra...

High efficient Perovskite solar cells base on Niobium Doped TiO2 as a Buffer Layer

Here, the effect of lightly Niobium doped TiO2 layer on the performance of perovskite solar cells has been studied by using solar cell capacitance simulator (SCAPS). N addition, the effects of Niobium concentration, buffer film thickness and operating temperature on the performance of the perovskite solar cell are investigated. For doping level of 3.0 mol% into the TiO2 layer, cell efficiency o...

Synthesis and Investigation of Photovoltaic Properties of New Organic Dye in Solar Cells Device

In this paper, we designed and synthesized free-metal dyes based on indoline. The proposed dyes were synthesized from phenothiazine as the starting material by standard reactions. The chemical structure of the synthesized dye was confirmed using FT-IR, 1HNMR and DSC techniques. Spectrophotometric measurements of the organic dyes in acetonitrile and on a TiO2 substrate ...

A Study of ZnO Buffer Layer Effect on Physical Properties of ITO Thin Films Deposited on Different Substrates

The improvement of the physical properties of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) layers is quite advantageous in photovoltaic applications. In this study the ITO film is deposited by RF sputtering onto p-type crystalline silicon (c-Si) with (100) orientation, multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si), and glass substrates coated with ZnO and annealed in vacuum furnace at 400°C. Electrical, optical, structural a...
